Jacobson family Christmas 2010

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful...

The table is being set.

First things first...the walk needs shoveling.

Spent most of his free time working hard pushing snow.

A quick pic with mom before she takes a lap on the snowshoes.

More snow to blow...this time headed to the lower garage.

A few runs out to the fish house to get ready to catch (or not catch in our case) those fish.

Memorized by the CAT website.

The stockings were hung (across the room from the chimney) with care...

Ernie won't mind if I rest on his bed.

Sarah and Mike were busy with P90X.  After I took this picture I went upstairs to eat.

Hanging out (literally) with Dad.

My Christmas gift...all year round.

Ernie and Mike checking out Jake's new truck garage.  This was a hit!  Thanks Mike and Sarah.  I will be sending over some of the toys I need to clear out to make room for this in our living room.

This is my new Snuggi.  Yes folks, I finally got one.

In his new (and very very soft) jammies...along with his new slippers.

Reading a new book with Dad before bed on Christmas eve.

Getting cleaned up for Christmas dinner.

Shaving of course.

All decked out in his new Christmas outfit (thanks Becky!)

Pic with Auntie Sarah and Uncle Mike.

Mike is still in the garage...this time with Lincoln logs.

Another weekend of great weather.  Unfortunately for Scott he came down with a 24 hour flu bug on Christmas and ended up missing Grandma's famous fried chicken along with Becky's fantastic gravy.  You know he wasn't feeling good when he even skipped out on Yum Yum dessert.  Aside from that we had a great few days of delicious food, great company, fun games, and plenty of R&R.  (Except for Jacob's sleeping performance...again.)  Maybe he is just trying to get me back in not sleeping through the night mode for when Baby #2 arrives.  Or maybe, it was just way too much excitement for an almost three year old to handle.  The last couple of nights since we've been home (and back to our boring routine) he has slept just fine...all through the night.  Just the way mom likes it.

Sinclair family Christmas 2010

Around 6:30 am Saturday when I made the boys watch a movie after Jacob so kindly woke up Hayden and told him he was all done with his nap.  I think Jacob is still too little to grasp the concept of sleeping etiquette.  He figures if he is up, everyone needs to be up.

Weston takes down Jacob.  By the end of the weekend Jacob was starting to hold his own.

Very excited to meet Checkers, or as Jacob calls him..."Pet".

Watching Checkers in the tunnel.

Somebody has to keep the floor clean.

Brent's white elephant gift.

Brent's other part of his white elephant gift.  We were all really jealous of his gift.

The boys busy building stuff.

Working hard.

The photographer and her assistant prior to the photo shoot.

We give our kids dum-dums early in the morning so they will sit still for pictures.

Out of focus but a glimpse of the challenge of getting the perfect photo.  Classic.

Jacob was having a hard time getting through stories because he was so tired.  You would have thought he would have slept better.

Babies due 2011!  Sarah (right) due March.  Becca (middle) due April.  Nikki due June.

Entertainment by Noah.

Hayden getting started with his new Lego city.
We were thankful to have a healthy group and great driving conditions for our annual Sinclair Christmas gathering!  We met in Ames, IA for the weekend and aside from Jacob's less than stellar sleeping performance, it was a jam packed weekend with lots of fun, food, games, and toys.

Master Jacob

Hold it right there lady...photography of this work is not permitted.

The ones we didn't use

I'm sure Christmas card outtakes are rarely published but these are worth it.  I look at Jacob's faces and laugh...now I know why my sister was cracking up behind the lens.  We took these pictures right before Jake's bedtime - not the best time to get an almost three year old to pose for a picture.  Maybe next year I won't wait until the last minute.  Maybe.

3 month baby bump

195 days to go!  Although I am definitely still tired, I have finally mustered up some energy to get to the gym a couple of times in the last week.  Pathetic, really.  Especially when I think about how great of shape I was in when I got pregnant with Jacob.  But back then, I wasn't a full-time mommy and Scott and I did whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted, all of the time.  He he.  Those were the days.  But here's the bright side...when everyone is watching their diet and making New Year's resolutions to lose weight...I will plan on continuing to gain weight.  Hooray!  More leftover Christmas cookies for me!  Just kidding.  Sort of.

Morning / evening sickness has dissipated and although I wouldn't call it severe...it was definitely noticeable.  Small meals throughout the day make me most happy...particularly grapefruit and cereal.

We keep going back and forth as to whether or not we will find out the sex of this baby.  We found out with Jacob and decided on his name even before he was born.  We may change things up a bit this time around and hold out for the surprise.  I can tell you this though...it will definitely be a boy or a girl.
