Jacob's summer cut

Pool (and mud) party

T-ball opening day

Jacob had his opening day of T-ball this past Saturday.  I should let Coach Sinclair write the narrative because unfortunately for me, I was at work.  From what I hear there was some crying, confusion, a not so nice league director, and tons of fun.  I was really bummed to miss out on his first game but my awesome sis-in-law came through and snapped some fabulous photos - makes me feel like I didn't miss a thing.  Except for the crying and chaos.  Last four photos are courtesy of Coach Sinclair.

Last weekend we went to the St. Croix Pottery Festival to curb Scott's creative appetite.  It was beautiful weather and I was happy to hang around a bunch of pottery geeks.  (I am happy to report my appreciation for pottery has grown leaps and bounds since the days of Ghost.)

A young lad had set up a lemonade stand next door to one of the host houses.  Smart business move on his part.  And although it is universally known that kids' lemonade is usually on the lower end of the scale for quality, I always stop.  (Do you remember your lemonade stand as a kid?)

This young man was out of lemonade but had iced tea.  Very sweetened iced tea.  So I give him my dollar (50 cents for the glass, 50 cents tip) and took my red solo cup filled to the brim back into the car with obviously no intention of drinking it.  As I am putting my seat belt on I bump the arm of which I am holding my iced tea and literally drop it all over my lap and my camera.  Yes.  My camera.  My little treasure that I carry around and document fun events and think about narratives for my blog.  The camera that I capture things that I wouldn't otherwise remember.  So there you have it.  A clip art photo of a lemonade stand to go with my blog post.  Let's have a moment of silence.  Sniff.  Tear.

The good news is that the camera card is still functional and I didn't lose any photos that I had not yet downloaded.  Now I just have to figure out a way to download them.

I have yet to decide what to do in regards to replacing my camera.  They don't make the model that I was using and I really have no interest in getting much "fancier".  That whole idea of taking a photography class is light years away.  That is what I have my sis in law for.  Thankfully I have my old camera which still works (picture quality isn't as high) but at least it actually works.

Bless my clumsy self and all that are in my path.
