Future Olympians

Some day we will look back on this video as the beginning of what will most certainly be two great long jump careers.  Or not.

Miss Lydia

Sarah sent me this video - I can't rotate it (again, technologically challenged) but it is so worth it to turn your computer on its side and watch it.  My favorite moves are the head roll (:16) the stomping (:40) the hold in downward dog (1:00) and the belly pumping at 1:10 followed by the leg kick out to the side. As a former professional living room dancer I know she's got it. Mike and Sarah have a lot of sequence and glitter hair spray to look forward to.

As promised...sort of

You have to go to YouTube to view the slide show.  It is past midnight and I just can't figure out how to embed the slideshow.  Eventually I will figure out another option.  Eventually.

Good night.

Cheese

Our baby Nathan isn't such a baby anymore.  He's just a few weeks away from his 2nd birthday, and between his dramatic crying tantrums (he is quite the drama king) he is quite the little ham.  Lately he's been insisting on wearing his bike helmet around the house, which makes for some laugh out loud funny scenes.

Here he is...our helmet wearing, toy searching, cheese saying, roly poly, blueberry eating, not-so-little anymore almost two year old baby Nathan.

wah wah wahhhhhhh

This is what Nathan says to me anytime I start complaining about the weather.  Or anything else for that matter.

Hidden Haven 2012

Here's the video recap of Hidden Haven 2012...courtesy of my sis in law Sarah.  I didn't bring my camera.  You remember the recent iced tea incident?  Yeah, I just figured I was better off leaving it at home.  And I knew Sarah would pull through.  Thanks for the great pics, Sarah!

Remember when...

Jacob was a rock star at the age of 2?  He looked a lot like someone else we know although most of the time he is a mini-daddy.

Lesson in Hospitality

This is either Nikki passing on her education in Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a strong indication that we eat out too often.  Either way, it's amusing.  Should any of you care to dine at the Jacob's Tavolino we recommend calling ahead for reservations.  We also recommend you bring an extra change of clothes.

Blog? What Blog?

My apologies to the faithful Sinclair Says readers. It has been awhile since the last update. Here's why: We've moved. Moved to another townhouse three blocks from our former. Honestly, I think we may get professional mover status soon. It's almost 10pm and Scott is putting the finishing touches on some shelves in the garage. I'm sure the neighbors will be happy when this project is complete. Thank you to Mark, Sue, Sarah, Tom, Sarah, Mike, Doug and Lin for your contribution and support in yet another move. Should we just plan on this time again next year? Seriously though...thank you all for your help and a special props to my dad. He spent an entire weekend building shelves in our garage.

We've lost a bit of kitchen space but have gained...drum roll please...a bedroom! No, not for another baby. Not yet, anyway. For you! Yes, you come to the Sinclair house and you get a bed! Do you hear me? A bed! No more Aerobed for you. It's cozy and feels like home. Jacob still says "Sarah?" every time we pull into our driveway. There is some brick that resembles the outside of Sarah and Mike's house, so I am not sure if he thinks it is their house or what but I have to keep telling him that it is Mommy, Daddy, Jacob, Melly, and Luna's house.

Jacob. Jacob is almost 2! We are 2 1/2 months shy of his 2nd birthday. I hear it all the time...how they grow up so fast. Well, it is true indeed. Jacob is a sweet boy. He's been quite the helper with our move. He likes to help Dad with hanging pictures and using his tools. He is a thinker. He likes to figure out how things work. He's a tad impatient. Likes to do things on his terms and if it is different he throws a fit. Did I mention he is almost two? He is really into tractors right now. He uses a wrapping paper tube as his bat and hits ping pong balls around. He loves his nursery rhyme videos and he also likes to drive. Well, pretend drive. But every day he asks to drive. So there he sits...in the car with his hands on the steering wheel. He loves to read books. We read books before nap, before bed, and sometimes when we're just too worn out to play anymore. He loves to play "Ready, Set, Go" and run laps. He talks and talks and talks. My favorite right now is "sweetie". I might say "It's time to eat sweetie"...he repeats..."sweetie". He loves to point out everything he sees and tells us what it is...plane, train, boat, fireplace, garbage truck, mail truck, duck, kitty, geese, car, light, fan, screwdriver, bulldozer, dirt, door, hammer, phone, vacuum, pool, slide, stroller...and it goes on and on. Can you imagine how exciting his world must be? He's polite. When we leave the YMCA he signs thank you to his teachers and says bye. He has also started Art classes with teacher Ellen. His first finger painting is already framed. He loves breakfast. He's skipping his morning nap and starting to adjust to just one afternoon nap. I could go on and on.

So we're more or less settled, and getting back to our normal routine. Thanks for checking in and it won't be so long before the next update!

Jacob Sit! Jacob Speak! Jacob Stay!

As soon as your kid starts speaking, singing, or doing tricks it is hard to resist asking them to perform repeatedly. Sometimes I feel like I should have a treat in my hand to reward good behavior. In all seriousness though, how can you not want to hear him say "Sarah" over and over again. It is so darn cute. Here are some of his tricks - one of my favorites is his rendition of Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.
