Fun-filled weekend

We spent the weekend with Grandpa and Grandma Sinclair and Aunt Sarah and Uncle Tom. On Saturday we checked out the Train Collector show in Woodbury followed by the American Craft Council show in St. Paul. We couldn't have asked for better weather and all weekend we enjoyed good eats and good laughs.

Say Kuh-nuffle! This photo shoot was quite comical. Jacob was so busy running around he didn't want to sit to have a picture taken. We lured him over by telling him to go tickle Grandpa. He finally sat down (but not too close to Grandpa) and Sarah instructed him to put his arm on Grandpa's. He did exactly as told. Finally after telling him to scoot over next to Grandpa we've got a framer. Although, I'm a big fan of the candid photos myself.

Did we mention how beautiful the weather was? Sarah and I enjoyed a few rays long into the afternoon. Being quite mindful of the sun's harmful rays of course. Look at those beautiful, white, non sun-damaged legs!

Basketball, baseball, bags. Does this kid ever get tired? Indeed. And today we had a pre-nap meltdown to prove it.

Grandpa brought Jacob a train. He anxiously awaited his debut as train conductor as Grandpa and Dad got it all fixed up...

however the jerking motion scared him at first. Sheer terror. Not the reaction we had hoped for.
After a few lessons from mom and dad holding on to him and helping him push the button he was ready to ride the rails on his own. Now we can't get him off. In fact, he is sleeping on the train tonight.

Inspecting one of the bugs he collected in his new bug bag. He really likes his new bag. If he collects bugs he does let them out at the end of the day to go night night.

Strawberry shortcake for Saturday dessert and we had a fantastic egg bake this morning as well. You like her shirt?

Ready, Set, SWIM!

Very excited to start class
Getting ready to jump
You have to learn how to get out, too
Blowing bubbles
As long as I don't have to put my ears in and can hang onto your forehead
Relaxing a bit more
Check out those faces
Kicking and scooping
Jacob had his last day of swimming lessons last night. Teacher Dani is the best swim instuctor and he has been lucky to have her for all of his sessions. He will have to wait until he is 3 to move on to the next level but in the meantime he'll be busy splashing, practicing his scoops and kicks, and singing songs. We're excited that he is comfortable in the water (probably due to the fact that Scott and I enjoy water activities as well) so we're looking forward to the day when we can take him swimming in our favorite swimming spot...the ocean! No pressure, though.

One day without shoes is today!

Check out TOMS! I don't have a pair yet so I can't comment on the wearability, however, the concept is fantastic and these are definitely on my shopping list.

Easter weekend

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful weekend! Saturday night we enjoyed our first official barbeque at Mike and Sarah's. Jacob was busy hunting for eggs. On Sunday, we had a great service at The Harbor Church and came home to a traditional ham dinner. Well, almost. Thankfully the delayed bake timer on the oven did actually go off but we should have planned to start it a bit sooner. None the less, we had plenty of sunshine to enjoy and Easter treats to get into until dinner was ready.
