It's about time I updated the blog

During Pine Harbor's end of year auction we bid on a police car ride.  Jacob and two of his friends got to know the ins and outs of being a police officer and go for a ride.  Unfortunately for Jacob, his motion sickness got the best of him and he came home with a headache (no puke - yay!).  He told me he thinks he doesn't ever want to ride in the back of a police car again.  I told him, "Awesome.  Don't break the law and you won't have to".

Our little Nathan turned three on June 7.  He had a monster truck birthday cake as requested, and helped himself to anyone and everyone's extra (or not extra) cake that he could find.  He looks up to "Coco" and wants to be exactly like his big brother.  Now only if we would wear big boy pants like his big brother.  This one might be a bit more difficult to train.  He cried this morning when I tried to get him to wear a Pull-up.  Oh well.  We'll get there.  Eventually.  Nathan is just plain awesome.  He's got an adventurous spirit, has the best laugh, and brings so much joy to our lives every single day.

 Bring on summer!  We're ready!

Jacob had a fantastic year of kindergarten.  He's all ready for 1st grade.  After a little more summer, of course.

These two up to their usual shenanigans.  We have to keep an eye on them.  While most of the time they have a blast together, now and again Nathan tends to do a little pushing, shoving, and hitting her in the head with toys.  Not to say she can't hold her own.  She's a tough cookie and won't let him push her around for too long.

We spent Father's Day weekend up at my parents on Lake Julia.  Unfortunately we didn't spend any time on the lake due to rain.  Guess that's the literal meaning of a rain check.  Next time we'll enjoy some pontooning and fishing!

There's me back at the YMCA!  Hooray!  After 2 doses of prednisone, 3 bottles of Advil, 2 cortisone injections, other various pain meds and 20+ visits of Physical Therapy I've made some awesome improvement but jeepers it's been a long road.  I still have mild pain and just can't to a toe raise on that right food (if I were a ballerina I'd be devastated...thank goodness I'm not.)  Although I'm thankful for the healing and improvement that has taken place, at 36 years young I'm looking forward to complete function and healing.  In the next few weeks I will have some consults with surgeons, but still hopeful I have some marked improvement of strength and won't have to go that route.

Just another day in the galaxy and on the worksite.

Doug and Lin organized the Grace family reunion held in Duluth.  It was jam packed catching up with family, playing with cousins, swimming, arcade, train ride, history lessons, great photo ops and much agate hunting.  Jacob has already asked when we're going back to Duluth.

June 28th marks the dual birthday of Mike and Lydia!

Just a few of my favorite summer shots.  My new favorite thing to plant and take care of are succulents.  Two words...low maintenance.

I am in jail.  Says Jacob.  What a great day for a picnic and some time at the park.

Our dear friends Marie and Jake have moved to Cedarburg - a town just north of Milwaukee.  They are settled and loving their new home and town but they didn't leave before we had a great dinner in St. Paul and the book club girls surprised Marie the night before they moved for one last toast.  I miss my BFF but we're looking forward to our visit in August!

And that my friends, brings you up to speed on what's happening with the Sinclair family.  Nathan is enjoying Kids Kare once a week and Jacob is busy with baseball and YMCA camp.  Summer feels like it is going to fast - as it always does.  Wishing you a happy 4th of July weekend and thanks for checking in!
