Corndog days of summer

Bucket of balls: $5

Corn dogs:  $7

Bingo cards: $0.25

Acting like kids at the Dakota County fair:  Priceless

Thank you MasterCard for letting me rip off your creative idea.  My sister reminded me last night that it has been a very long time since updating the blog.  My dear blog friends, my intentions are good.  I promise.  By the way, how many blog friends to I have anyway?  I feel like there are about 10 people that read this (5 of you leave comments).  So if you are out there, give me a shout out.  I'd like to have an idea of the audience that I am writing for.  Actually, that is hogwash.  I just want to know if you are reading.  The intention of this blog was truly a baby book for Jake and to keep everyone updated on our lives...which I do.  But I have found it is also a bit of a creative outlet for myself.  And case in point...this particular post isn't even about Jake!  I also like to ramble about things...and what better way to do it then on a medium that people have a choice of reading!  So come on...say hello and make me feel loved today.

Okay, back to the point.  We had a fun Sinclair family vacation a couple of weeks back at Hidden Haven resort near Grand Rapids, MN.  I took my HD video gadget and took a lot of video throughout the week.  After seeing a highlight video that one of my friends made I thought that would be a great way to capture the week.  Problem one...my computer can't read the video when I download it.  I think our computer is too old to handle the high tech stuff.  Next problem...we have no space left.  Seriously, I keep getting these pop up messages about low disc space.  Getting 3+ years worth of pictures onto a backup drive might be a really good idea to start.  Can you even imagine where we would put these if we had to develop them like the old days!  The third problem...doing new things on the computer is not my strong suit.  Scott has to be the one to help me format the video.  And making a highlight video is definitely not one of his highest priorities these days while he is busy saving the world.  It will get done though...eventually.

Another side note...Scott suggested that I might like a Mac instead of a PC in the case that we do get a new computer.  Thoughts?

I must go pack now as we are headed up to Lake Julia for the weekend.

Adios para ahora.

Dear Nikki,

I read your blog and I love it! I've been checking it frequently, wondering what you Sinclair's are up to! Wish we could have gone to the fair with you guys! See ya soon! Jenny

First off, I love your blog! Especially since Jake is just a little older than Eli. It's fun to see what Eli might be doing in a few months...I have a feeling they would be good friends! :-) And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one using blogging as a "baby book"!

Second, we JUST boutght an external hard drive b/c we are having the same issues. It's nice to know that my precious pictures are safe in another location. I still have a hard time deleting them off my computer, though.

Third, you SO need a Mac!! I got a MacBook about a year a half ago after never having one and I LOVE it. Would never ever go back. It's a little more money, but you SO will not regret it. SO easy to use and SO great with pictures and videos!! I promise, you will be in love. You must get one.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, too.

Have a great weekend at the lake! And keep blogging! (And did I mention you SO need a Mac??!)

PS...I'm ashamed that I had yet to become an official "follower" of your blog! Silly me! Now I am!

Nikki, I'm a reader!! I think you knew that, but I know exactly what you mean about confirmation. So Jenny Driscoll: confirmed. Love it! K, I am all over what Stacey said. Once you go MAC you never go BAC!! :) I too have a MacBook (Pro) and love it. I also have an external hard drive and have all sorts of photos through the years on there. If I need to access them, I just plug it into my computer.

You are loved and the whole video deal is why I now own a desktop with some space and power!!!!! I went with an HP, I've never had a mac and I like that it is all the same as my work computer.
