Viva Las Vegas

Hand blown glass exhibit at the Bellagio.

World's largest chocolate fountain.

Dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Dos Caminos (they also have locations in NYC).

Ready for my mom's BD dinner!

While I spent some time with my mom, sister, aunts, and cousins in Las Vegas last week Scott took a couple of days off of work to be a stay-at-home dad. I'm sure that deserves a blog post all its own but I obviously won't be the author of that one. It was my first trip out to Las Vegas and we had AMAZING weather. I was really looking forward to relaxing in the sun and there was plenty at the Trump. Smart or not so smart I'm not sure but Donald himself decided to have his hotel wrapped in 24K gold foil. It increases the temperature by the pool by about 10 degrees and increases the reflective quality of the sun's rays to oh, I don't know, 150%. I spent most of the day on Friday in the sun. Whilst reapplying sunscreen every 30 minutes I definitely didn't get burned, but I for sure got dehydrated and didn't feel all that great for the first couple of days. The sunscreen toxins probably got in my blood as well. Bummer! But hey, after some H2O and rest (sort of) I managed to feel better. Although I don't really enjoy casinos, second hand smoke, or partying until the break of dawn there were a few things about Vegas I could appreciate. It was much cleaner than I had expected and definitely not as trashy. The architecture (I use that term loosely because I am no expert) and decor of many of the places was quite amazing. I also had a fantastic facial at the Trump Spa. The other highlight of the trip was catching up with my dear friend Wade and meeting his friends Jackie and Brian.

Stopping for a picture outside of the Mirage.

Thank you Donald for the 24 K foil.

The Trump is directly across the street from the Nordstrom's entrance of the mall. Right into the shoe section. How convenient.

Wade and me after dinner. Are my eyes open? It wasn't even 10 o'clock. After being up at 4:30 that morning, laying in the sun all day, and a 2 hour time change, I fell asleep while walking to his car I think.

The Eiffel tower - for pretend.

This was a fantastic exhibit in the Bellagio.

The water here is much cleaner than in the real Venice!

One of the water falls of the Wynn.

So many fresh flowers at the Wynn.

Relaxing with Sarah, Heather, Melanie, and Chris at the beautiful Trump pool. Can you guess who uses SPF 30 and who uses oil? :)
