First family camping trip

Dump truck.  Don't leave home without it.

Ben, we know you can wire a house but can you put up a tent?

S'mores and staying up late...camping is great!

As if he would stay on the blanket.

Patiently waiting for pancakes.

He's still got it even after 11 years.  Flowers while camping.  Impressive.

This one likes camping.

Annika.

Glow sticks.

Michelle and Isabelle enjoying the campfire.

This one was into everything.

Dad, would you mind filling up my water jug while I kick back and relax.

We did it!  Now let's go home and have a nap.

The Sunde and Sinclair families go camping.
Overall our first family camping trip was a success!  With the first trip under our belt I will be much more prepared next time.  Good thing we were only 20 minutes away from home...we would have been without coffee (WHAT!?) and flowers to celebrate 11 years.  He probably could have just picked me some wildflowers and it would have been as romantic.  ;)

Our biggest challenge was chasing after the almost 15 month old.  If he wasn't sleeping (which was much less than while he is at home) he was into something.  I am still scraping dirt out from under his nails.  He loves to be outside and I see a lot of camping trips in his future.  The day before our trip, Scott scored a family size tent on Craigslist.  This meant Nathan's pac and play, our blow up queen size air mattress, and Jake's foam pad and sleeping bag all fit with room to boot.  Yes, we blow up an air mattress.  If you want to talk about "real" camping, we can talk about our 5 days on the Appalachian Trail.

The campground was beautiful, great playground, and a nice beach and lake for swimming.  The green floaties reminded me of my childhood in Hall Lake.

Although it was fun, I am exhausted.  A few more trips and maybe I will get into the swing of things. Maybe.
