Days go by

Doesn't it seem as soon as summer rolls around the days seem like they are on fast-forward? I think the fact that we're here in Minnesota is the main reason. Although the days are longer we pack so many things in to enjoy every bit of warm sunshine that we can before summer quietly slips away and we're commenting on the changing color of the leaves.

The past couple of weeks have flown by. We spend a lot of time outside, playing at the park, reading books, and playing with friends. We spent one morning catching some entertainment at Teddy Bear Park followed by a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich and OREOS! Poor kid has never had an Oreo cookie in his life (at least that I have given him) and they came with the kids meal in a cute little blue two pack. He immediately said, What's that? and upon telling him they were cookies for his dessert he was quite excited. The first thing he did was twist off the top and starting licking the "ice cream".

We then ventured up to Grandma Sue and Grandpa Jake's house for a few days over Memorial Day weekend. I took a detour and spend a night with Sarah and Mike in Brainerd at Mike's family cabin. We spent the greater part of the afternoon at the Manhattan Beach Club listening to GB Leighton. What a lovely afternoon! We relaxed at the cabin, observed Mike looking quite funny in snorkel and fins in order to go on a dive quest for a lost cable (he was successful on the first try) and then I got my butt whooped from Jenny and Sarah in pretty much every game of Pounce that we played. I forgot my camera so the weekend events have no supporting photos. If I can get a hold of the picture of Mike that Sarah has on her camera it is definitely worth posting.

Grandma and Cindy hung out with Jacob for a couple of days before I joined them. Mark, Scott, Chris and Larry headed to Canada for their annual fishing trip. They had a lot of rain and not a lot of fish, (at least compared to years past) but they still had a great time.

We got home Tuesday night and I'm not sure where the week went but we're already heading into another weekend!
