Bend and Snap (AKA Scoop and Eat)
This series of video clips is from breakfast this morning. This is the first time Jake has fed himself via spoon with any consistency. I felt like I had to include more than one of the clips to give you a glimpse of what the process was like start to finish. Needless to say, we had a morning bath today in lieu of our regularly scheduled evening bath. Enjoy!

Story time
I love the library. Every few weeks I check out a big pile of books for Jacob. They not only have a wide variety of books but a great kids area with toys, puzzles, and activities. We usually read to him before naps and bed but on this particular afternoon he felt compelled for some story time on his own. (Maybe he was quite content from the pancake he had at brunch.)
hunk-a burnin' love
We enjoyed Valentine's Day brunch in Rochester with Grandma & Grandpa Sinclair and Uncle Tom & Aunt Sarah. It was fun catching up with everyone over some delicious Pannekoeken (Sarah opted for the dish with the Holidays sauce ;) and Nikki ordered her favorite french toast while Jacob devoured his first pancake. Between his first flapjack and his singing card (he's listened to it about 20 times) Valentine's Day might just rank up there in his top 5 favorite holidays.

Saturday Morning Lattes (hold the espresso, please)
Smells so lovely when you pour it
You'll want to drink a quart of coffee.
It's delicious all alone
It's also good with donuts, black coffee.
Coffee stimulates your urges.
It's served in Lutheran Churches.
Keeps the Swedes and the Germans
Awake through the sermons.
Have a pot of it today.
I'm sure you'll say it's awfully good coffee.
Happy Saturday everyone!

He keeps going, and going, and going.
Jacob has been getting a lot of practice in with his Walk N Ride. He still has some work to do on the steering (or we need to get the alignment checked), but he's getting pretty good at scooting around the house now. This, in addition to recently learning how to climb stairs, pull himself up on just about any vertical surface, and crawl quite quickly, has put Mom & Dad on high alert for about every second he's awake now. I'm thinking we're either going to have to wrap the entire house in bubble wrap, keep a helmet on this kid all the time, or befriend our nurse neighbor, as it appears we've officially entered the inevitable minor injury zone. Feel free to send us your extra band aids.
