Jake is quite the funny boy these days. He likes to have his alone time in his crib where he talks to his lamb, giraffe, and monkey. He usually needs to catch up with them before falling asleep. He seems to have grown quite fond of his snuggly blankie as well. He's starting to jabber quite a bit - he's figured out da da (whether he relates it to dad we're not sure), but no ma ma yet. He sings (or at least tries to), has figured out how to make his voice go up and down, and laughs. This kid laughs a lot. Sometimes for no reason. I will be driving and he will be in his car seat...and he will just start giggling.
Speaking of car seats...we just ordered a new, bigger one and can't wait to get it! He fights us with the car seat we have...he's just too squished.
We've been going to the YMCA almost every day. He loves it. Most days he goes to the kids care (which I am SO thrilled with...the staff is amazing and the facility is gorgeous) but as soon as he walks by the pool and sees the sparkling blue water through the big glass window he screams. Literally screams with excitement. He starts his Sea Turtle parent/child class in November.
He had his well check last week. He's 18 1/2 lbs and 28 inches long. He's still on the lower end of the percentile for height and weight...but his head is still right up there in the 90th percentile. He cut his upper left tooth like we had thought, and his newest foods are yogurt and Cheerios. I was a bit worried that he might have a dairy sensitivity like Scott, but he did great with the yogurt as far as I can tell and loved it. Hopefully I will be able to switch him over to whole milk with no problems when the time comes.
That's about it for now. We're having a pumpkin carving party this weekend so we'll update you after the festivities.
Ciao ciao!
