Weekend in Charles City
We had a great time last weekend in Charles City taking in the local fair before Scott and I left the boys with Grandma and Grandpa for a night away. We went to the Jones County Fair in Monticello to see Keith Urban where our friends Jami and Nicole joined us. Nicole took some amazing photos - worthy of a post of their own. Jacob scored a couple of extra days solo with G and G and he is having a blast.

As promised...sort of
You have to go to YouTube to view the slide show. It is past midnight and I just can't figure out how to embed the slideshow. Eventually I will figure out another option. Eventually.
Good night.
Good night.

If I only had a brain
Here are the boys pre 4th of July vacation. They are still smiling and the only thing they have added are 20 + bug bites each and Jacob has subtracted two front teeth.
Our vacation started out great. We drove out of our garage with either 1. our back hatch left open or 2. while a certain 5 year old that had the key faab in his hands (stupid parent trick #434) pushed the button to open the hatch. We can't know for sure - all we know is that is was an accident but it shattered our entire back window. Our trip was only delayed a couple of hours though...if you need glass people I will get you their number. They drove to our house and fixed the van while parked on the street. Amazing.
So, off we went on our journey north. We split our time between my parents place on Lake Julia and The McNamara's place on Lower Hay Lake. It was a wonderful week and I have pictures to prove it. I even managed to get them put into a slide show set to music. Yay. But that file has been sitting on my computer for a couple of days now because I can't get the file uploaded to blogger. I really struggle with computers. I have no idea how I passed my college computer science class. Anyway, with a little help from my friends, or perhaps my super smart husband we'll get it up sooner or later.
As far as updates go, my mom is doing awesome. She's had two treatments of chemotherapy. Only 16 more to go! She has responded really well with minimal side effects. Day 4 & 5 of the first treatment she wasn't feeling the greatest, but she bounced back quickly. She's got a new super cute short haircut too. If she does lose her hair I was thinking we could put a Vikings henna tattoo on her head. Get her ready for football season. Which, by the way will be here before I know it. I went to Target today to look for a couple of patio chairs. HELLO PEOPLE IT IS JULY. They were a few random things on clearance and a whole bunch of back packs and school supplies. Just let me enjoy the summer, okay. Can you tell I am a little nervous about sending my first born to kindergarden? Actually, it isn't really him going to school...he is going to love it. It is getting him to school by 8am. Yikes! Alright. So what else. Oh yes, my high school friend Stacey took pictures for Sarah and Mike and you must see these. Love love love. And she knows how to upload her slideshow. Maybe I should ask her for help.
Well, that's all for now. My kids are in bed. Scott is back at the office. And I am going to finish the laundry and cleaning that I started at 8 am this morning before settling in with one of two good books that I am currently reading. A Will To Murder (story of the Glensheen Mansion in Duluth) and The Language of Flowers (our book club pic this month).
Happy Wednesday friends and keep an eye out for those pics. Sooner or later, I promise.
