From San Diego, with love

$1 for a bag of tangelos from the house at the bottom of the hill

I almost stepped on him as I was walking to the car.  Eeeeeeeek!

Wine tasting at South Coast winery   We brought home a bottle of their Sauvingnon Blanc. It is obvious we are lacking Vitamin D.  Oh Minnesota spring will you please come soon?

Scott's delicious lunch at Pinnacle

Flowers in bloom at Wilson Creek winery

It's spring in California

Vineyards and mountains

The car we rented did not look like this.  This was a cute bunch stopped in front of us.

La Jolla (pronounced La HOY-A)

My cousin Arja with her husband Brad and kiddos, Sawyer, Audrey and Jonathan (sleeping in carrier).  She made us the best blueberry coffee cake!  It was so fun to catch up with them and hear about about California life.

More at La Jolla

Scott on the slippery rocks

On the ferry looking at San Diego...on our way to Coronado Island.

Hotel Del Coronado

Pacific Ocean

I took this picture while riding my bike forward.  Got lucky that Scott was in it.

Sunset from our hotel room.

Our last breakfast in Seaside Village.  We got here early and the smell of lemon pine-sol was so strong inside we opted for the outdoors.  It was a tad chilly, but they had heaters which was nice.  I'm also wearing the much needed sweatshirt that I bought the day before.

Great plane ride home.  Had beautiful scenery for first hour and half.  Made up for the ride there in which we were in the very last row (very loud) and no window.

Snow...reminding us of what we are heading back to.

While we are patiently waiting for spring...

we've been "helping" mom keep the floors clean...

and relaxing with Luna...

learning how to give "gentle" hugs...

and playing in the heaps of snow...

but finding out that playing while wearing mittens is NOT fun...

and we're just getting just plain tired of snow...

but with a few angels...

and a great friend...

we can enjoy what's left of winter while we wait for that sun to shine just a bit longer in the day for when we can eventually put our boots and snow pants away for the season.

Jacob has lost his second bottom tooth and his top two are loose.  He might be having corn off the cob this summer.  His spring break starts on Friday and he has been counting down the days until he gets to go to Grandma and Grandpa Sinclair's for the long weekend.  Nature center, cousins, sled dog ride, relaxing in the hot tub...it sounds like they have an amazing weekend planned and hopefully we'll be able to share some pics next week.

Nathan is doing his best at learning about patience, sharing, and that while being close to two is exciting, it can be very frustrating at the same time.  Hanging with mom solo on Wednesdays isn't quite as much fun as being with his big brother (he kept asking for Jacob today) but we're finding out that stacking blocks and counting and knocking them down is SO MUCH FUN.  Who knew?

Scott and Nikki are counting down the days (7 not counting today) until we get to sneak away to San Diego to explore  the city and surrounding area.  I see a delicious dinner paired with a lovely wine, a long walk by a beach, and sleeping in until nine in my very near future.  I am SO excited.

Happy day to you friends and thanks for checking in.

Tubular Saturday.

Jacob and Scott joined The Holtons (Jake, Leah & Isaac) for a few hours of tubing at Afton Alps on Saturday.  Video is from our last run of the day...there were a few tears when it was time to go, but Jacob was very consoling and told Dad he would be able to come back again soon.  :)  Needless to say, a good time was had by all.

Jacob and Leah taking a snack break between runs.
