Easter 2011

Is my Easter basket in my bed?

It's behind my door!

These Starburst jellybeans are GOOD!  Note: Jacob has named his bunny Clausia. (?)

Searching for eggs.

Jacob and Alaina had a blast finding all of the goodies.

Jake wasn't too interested in the bracelets...but they are a must have for Alaina.

The saxophone bubbles were a hit.
For Easter this year we went to the early service at church and Jake came back with Grandma and Grandpa J. while Scott and I stayed to teach during the second service.  We joined Sarah and Mike at Denny and Lynne's place for a fantastic egg hunt filled with lots of great toys (Jacob told me today he REALLY likes all of his new toys he got from Denny and Lynne's) and had a delicious dinner with the McNamara family.  A beautiful day indeed.

Lesson in Hospitality

This is either Nikki passing on her education in Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a strong indication that we eat out too often.  Either way, it's amusing.  Should any of you care to dine at the Jacob's Tavolino we recommend calling ahead for reservations.  We also recommend you bring an extra change of clothes.

30 weeks

10 weeks to go!

My sweet Jacob.

Mom, now can I have a cookie?  (Every now and again I bribe my child with a treat so that he will do things that I want him to do...like pose for pictures.)

I can use my muscles to help you hold up baby brother.

Um, Mom, I can't fit all the way around.  P.S.  This is the 3rd time in his life that he has worn jeans.  The first was at 5 months, the second was yesterday and today was the third.

Where's Jacob?

These are my boys at 7:37 am.  Jacob's queen size bed serves as a nice snuggling place for Dad when Jacob comes in at 5:30 am and requests that Dad (not Mom) rock with him for a little bit.  The two must be snug as bugs in rugs because they are catching a few extra zzz's this morning.

Baby boy #5!

The fifth baby boy (so far) of the Sinclair side has arrived!  Wyatt Douglas Ringer was born April 12, 2011.  8 lbs, 10 oz and 21 inches long.  Becca had a great labor and delivery (and by great I mean "one of the hardest things a woman has the privilege of doing, but this time went more quickly for her and without interventions as she had hoped for.)   Reports from Omaha are great.  Big brother Weston is giving him kisses and bringing his "bestest" blanket to him when he cries.  Congratulations Robert and Rebecca and we can't wait to meet Wyatt!

A fine spring day

Jacob's first attempt at the stomp rocket.

Miles stomping with gusto.

Strolling with Mason.

Miles analyzing his biking skills.  He's fairly new and doing a great job!

Reaching our destination...Starbucks.

Jake and I spent the morning with my dear friend Christy and her kids Miles and Mason.  Jake had a great time with them and I had a fantastic time catching up with Christy.  We go way back to the Homewood Suites days - my first job out of college.  I look back on those days and laugh.  We did have a lot of fun on our "sales calls" though.  As it turned out, corporate America wasn't really my style but a good friendship never goes out of style.  Thanks for having us guys and we look forward to seeing you again!

June babies

This is taken of my friend Kris and me way back in November...just a couple of months along.  Our due dates are 4 days apart.

Don't mind us...look at those great windows!

Kris doesn't know if she is having a boy or girl.  Any guesses?

Rochester road trip

Sweet Olive.

Owin and Jacob's (aka Lewis and Clark's) expedition

to Canada!

We are wolves.

Just need a little break.

Mall walkers.

Creepy.  But cute.

28 weeks

Hello month seven!  I think I have officially gone from feeling like I have a cute baby bump to feeling like I have an over sized basketball shoved in my stomach.  And you know how firm a basketball is?  That is almost how firm my belly is.  It doesn't make for an easy time doing laundry, picking up toys, or reading books to Jacob (he now has to sit next to me).  And you should see me in yoga.  Now that is a sight.

Overall I am feeling pretty good - but all of my friends with more than one kid were right.  It is so different (and a lot more work being pregnant) when you have another one.  I remember sleeping like a princess right up until the last couple of weeks before Jacob was born.  I was in great shape and could actually get full workouts in.  Now I am already finding myself in the recliner in the middle of the night and sucking wind going up a set of stairs.  And regular heartburn.  Awesome.

But all complaining aside, the little guy is healthy and strong and we are so thankful for him and excited for June.  He has his kicks now and again but this one really likes to stretch out.  The nursery is almost finished.  This has been a fun project for me because I didn't really get to do a nursery for Jake since we knew going to be in Rochester for such a short time.

The only thing I am stressed about at this point is what we are going to name him.  Today Jacob asked me what his baby's name was going to be.  We just don't know.

Speaking of Jacob, he got a haircut today and whenever he gets a haircut he looks older.  He's doing great in his new big bed - once he finally gets to sleep anyway.  The bedtime routine has become such a fiasco.  Stalling and not staying in bed.  I don't know if it is daylight savings, his new room, little brother on the way, or what...but for the moment, bedtime for this 3 year old is quite the challenge.

I will leave you with a couple of pictures of Jake fresh out of the bath.  And I am off to get my Tums.

Weekend recap

Silly

Sillier

Helping dad with a project

In case you can't read Gwendolyn's outfit it says "I Love Auntie"

But I think she loves her Uncle Scott too

Being silly with Grandpa

Tom and Sarah brought Gwen over for her first pizza party and Grandpa and Grandma were able to spend some extra time with us.  A special thank you to them for hanging out all morning with Jake while Dad was at a meeting and I got called into work unexpectedly!  We enjoyed lunch (on my boss...how cool is that!?) before they had to make their way back to Charles City and wash clothes and re-pack for another adventure south...this time as we wait the arrival of Baby Ringer!
